Arsenal V Liverpool Premier League Results

Liverpool Deepen Arsenal's Emirates Woes with Dominant 2-0 Victory

Firmino and Jota Punish Gunners in Second Half

Liverpool Extend Arsenal's Winless Streak at Emirates

Arsenal's hopes of securing a top-four finish in the Premier League took another blow on Sunday as Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners at the Emirates Stadium. The Reds took control of the game in the second half, with Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino finding the net to inflict Arsenal's third consecutive home defeat.

Liverpool started the game brightly, but it was Arsenal who had the first clear-cut chance to score when Bukayo Saka raced through on goal. However, the England international could only fire straight at Liverpool goalkeeper David Raya.

The visitors continued to press and were rewarded for their persistence just before the hour mark when Jota broke the deadlock. The Portuguese forward latched onto a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold and fired a low shot past Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal tried to rally, but Liverpool remained in control and doubled their lead in the 76th minute. Firmino was the scorer, heading home from close range after a cross from Mohamed Salah.

The win moves Liverpool within two points of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. Arsenal, meanwhile, remain fifth, five points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
