Suns G Grayson Allen Exits Game 1 with Ankle Injury
Suns Suffer Early Blow in Playoff Opener
Allen's Absence a Concern as Suns Look to Tie Series
Grayson Allen, the Phoenix Suns' starting shooting guard, exited Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night with an ankle injury. Allen suffered the injury in the third quarter of the game and did not return.
The Suns went on to lose the game 120-113, giving the Mavericks a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Allen's absence was a significant factor in the Suns' loss, as he is one of the team's best three-point shooters and perimeter defenders.
Allen is expected to undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury. However, the Suns are reportedly concerned that Allen could miss multiple games of the series if the injury is serious.
