Wycliffe Grousbeck: The Majority Owner

Wycliffe Grousbeck is an American entrepreneur who is the majority owner and Governor of the National Basketball Association's Boston Celtics. He was born on June 13, 1961, in Albany, New York. Grousbeck graduated from Stanford University in 1983 with a degree in economics and then went on to Harvard Business School, where he received his MBA in 1985.

After graduating from Harvard, Grousbeck worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company. In 1993, he co-founded the venture capital firm Highland Capital Partners. Grousbeck has also served on the boards of several public companies, including Staples, Inc. and Monster Worldwide.

In 2003, Grousbeck led a group of investors that purchased the Boston Celtics from Paul Gaston. The Celtics had been struggling financially for several years, but Grousbeck and his partners were able to turn the team around. Under Grousbeck's ownership, the Celtics have won one NBA championship and made several other appearances in the NBA Finals.

Grousbeck is known for his innovative approach to running the Celtics. He has implemented several new initiatives, such as the "Extended Family" program, which allows fans to purchase season tickets at a reduced price. Grousbeck is also a strong supporter of the Celtics' charitable efforts.
